Default Navigating the Health-Care Maze 3/7 6:45pm to 8:45pm West End Collegiate Church

The Manhattan Adult Attention Deficit Disorder Support Group (MAADDSG) is pleased to present:

"Navigating the Health-Care Maze"

When it comes to medical coverage, the issues -- eligibility, premiums, deductibles, co-pays, recognized conditions, pre-existing conditions, accepted treatments, primary-care providers, out-of-network referrals, authorizations, denials, appeals, hearings, complaints -- can make your head spin. And then we get to: how to pay for all this?

Meanwhile, next year, the Affordable Care Act -- the health-care reform law passed in 2010 -- will finally kick in. What will it offer the uninsured? Or the under-insured? And how will Medicaid expansion affect the picture?

For more, hear Flor Ramirez, a community health advocate with the Children's Aid Society. Ms. Ramirez holds a Master of Public Administration degree from CUNY, and has spent five years engaged in health-consumer counseling, case management, and community education.

She'll speak on Thursday, March 7 -- from 6:45pm to 8:45pm -- at West End Collegiate Church. This is at 245 West 77th Street, west of Broadway and about 150 feet east of West End Avenue.

A $5 contribution is requested. The meeting will start at 6:30; doors will open at 6:15.
