News from Congressman Jerry Nadler
Among other things...
Rep. Nadler helped secure funding for the Jewish Community Council of Greater Coney Island for two wheelchair-accessible buses for seniors in southern Brooklyn.
Last month, I was honored to receive recognition from the Jewish Community Council of Greater Coney Island (JCCGCI) for my work on behalf of the communities of southern Brooklyn for the past 20 years as their representative in Congress. JCCGCI does important work for the people of Brooklyn, and I am pleased to have helped them obtain federal funds to purchase two wheelchair-accessible buses for the transport of senior citizens. These two 16-passenger buses serve seniors in Coney Island, Sea Gate, Brighton Beach, Midwood, and other parts of Brooklyn and, after the devastation of Hurricane Sandy, have been used to transport hundreds of seniors to obtain food and supplies that are desperately needed.
