Question Where are the Access-A-Ride (AAR) Bus Shelters in NYC?

Serving the 5 boroughs of NY with connections to intercounty points,
Access-A-Ride (AAR) is one of the largest paratransit services in the US.
For the busies...

With over 21,000 completed trips per week, and serving over150,000 riders,
Access-A-Ride (AAR) is one of the largest Paratransit service in the US.
For the busiest or most challenging locations, AAR has designated pickup
locations, with red and white signage for easy identification.

**Let's put our voices together!**
Shelters can: Act as a barrier from the elements - wind, rain, snow.
Provide light in the darkness; a more secure space, especially when buildings/shops
close for the night. Deter cars from parking and blocking Access-A-Ride
from pulling over on busy streets. Give people a place to wait more
comfortably without having to spend more of one's limited income in local
shops in order to wait.

HOW CAN YOU HELP?~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~1. A listing of all the designated AAR
pickup locations can be found
at For example, the
intercounty stops, stops at a number of medical centers and stops at ICS
Brooklyn/Manhattan may be familiar to some of the readers out there.Find a
stop that matters to you and...

2. Request a bus shelter NOW

3. Let the DOT know why AAR bus shelters areimportant to you

4. Contact MOPD at 311 and pressthe transportation option. Let them you
want to see shelters at AARdesignated stops and let them know which is the
stop you use most!

5. Even better: Take photos/video of the AARdesignated stop you use that
could use a shelter and send it to DOT and MOPD!Shout out and share on
social media with #AARSheltersNOW.
