ADVISORY:. Far Rockaway-Mott Avenue Station Rehabilitation Complete; Rockaway A Line Station is Now ADA Compliant

WHAT: The completion of the work that transformed the dreary-looking southern terminal on the A Line into a sparkling, steel and glass, state-of-the art transit facility will be marked tomorrow with a ribbon-cutting ceremony attended by MTA leaders and local community officials. Mott Avenue was part of a $117 million project to rehabilitate nine A Line stations serving the peninsula. Two new ADA-compliant elevators were installed in the Mott Avenue control building taking customers to the platforms.

WHO: MTA New York City Transit President Thomas F. Prendergast will preside over the ribbon-cutting ceremony. Congressman Gregory Meeks, Assemblywoman Michele Titus, Assemblyman Philip Goldfeder, and Councilman James Sanders have also been invited to attend.

WHEN: Friday, May 11 at 10 a.m.
