Soapbox lawsuit requires NYC to install and upgrade curb ramps on all street corners

Notice Of Settlement In A Class Action Lawsuit
United Spinal Association
(f/k/a Eastern Paralyzed Veterans Association) and New York City have
agreed to expand a ground-breaking 2002 settlement in a class action
lawsuit that requires New York City to install and upgrade wheelchair curb
ramps at all of its street corners.

This is notice to our members who may have a disability, as defined by the
Americans with Disabilities Act, who use or seek to use curb ramps in New
York City. You may be a member of a Plaintiff Class in the class action
lawsuit entitled Eastern Paralyzed Veterans Association v. City of New
York.

The court has scheduled a hearing for May 24, 2016 at 2:00 PM to assess
the fairness, reasonableness, and adequacy of the 2016 settlement. Members
of the Plaintiff class are entitled to attend the Fairness Hearing.

Click here to read the details.

Sincerely,

James Weisman
President & CEO

United Spinal Association
